Ministry of Justice at the African Bar Association Conference


The AFBA 2025 Annual Conference held on the 19 – 23 October 2025 in Accra, Ghana, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, themed “Foreign Interests in Africa – Exploitation or Investment” was a robust gathering of legal professionals, policymakers, academics, and stakeholders from across the continent and beyond.
The Abia State Ministry of Justice ably represented by Barr Chinedu Ogwo (Head of Civil Litigation Department), Barr Chinonyerem Onyemenonu (Head of Research and Publications Department), Barr Chidinma Gberemakor (Head of the GBV Unit) and Barr Uloaku Precious Ndubuisi participated actively in the conference, engaging in high-level discussions on the legal, economic, and governance implications of foreign involvement in Africa’s natural resources, infrastructure, and emerging markets. The sessions provided valuable insights on strengthening regulatory frameworks, promoting sustainable investments, safeguarding state interests, and enhancing the role of justice institutions in shaping a fair and equitable economic landscape for African nations.
The conference also offered an opportunity for networking, professional development, and cross-border collaboration aimed at deepening legal reforms and improving justice delivery systems across Africa.
The Ministry remains committed to leveraging the knowledge gained from the AFBA 2025 Conference to advance ongoing reforms in Abia State’s justice sector, promote investment-friendly laws, and safeguard the rights and interests of the people of Abia State.
