Veterinary Services
|
- Carry out public health services which include, Meat Inspection for the control of diseases from slaughtered animals in addition, ensuring food safety for general public living in Abia State and its environs. - Administering medical and surgical treatment of diseases and injuries. - Controlling disease outbreak that may be due to trans-boundary. - Providing urgent care for animals in critical condition. - Providing guidance on animal care, nutrition, and health management. These services can be obtained from the Veterinary Department of Abia State Ministry of Agriculture.

Agro-based Services
|
- Monitoring crops for pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, and providing recommendations for control measures. - Supply of Seeds, Seedlings (Cocoa, Oil palm, Rubber, Guava, Cashew, Sweet orange, Etc) and other agricultural inputs to farmers in subsidized rates. - Provision of Pesticides which help to fight against pests that attack the crops in the farm and store houses to farmers in subsidized rates. - Providing guidance on irrigation systems, water conservation and management. - Providing expert advice on farm management, marketing, and business planning. - Analyze soil samples to determine nutrient levels, and nutrient deficiencies, and providing recommendations for control measures. - Providing advice and guidance to farmers on best practices, new technologies, and crop management. These services can be practically obtained from the Agricultural Services Department of the Abia State Ministry of Agriculture.

|
- Providing services related to breeding, artificial insemination, and reproductive health. - Assist in developing and implementing health management plans to prevent and control diseases. - Provision of livestock to the general public in a subsidized rate. - Providing medical treatment, vaccinations, and health check-ups for livestock. - Providing education and outreach services to farmers on best practices and new technologies. The above listed services are obtainable from the Livestock Department of the Abia State Ministry of Agriculture.

- Providing solutions for farm mechanization, including equipment selection and optimization. - Assist in designing and construction of farm buildings, storage facilities, and other infrastructures in the farm. - Provide regular trainings in tractor operation and maintenance to farmers. - Designing and installing irrigation systems to optimize water use. - Assist in designing and developing machinery and equipment for agricultural production. The above listed services are obtained from the Engineering Department of Abia State Ministry of Agriculture.
