Abia State Government says it will not look back in its bid to empower Abia youths. The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ugochukwu Emezue, stated that the government of Chief T. A. Orji wants to leave an everlasting legacy when it comes to the issue of making Abia youths not only self-reliant but future leaders that the country can tap into their skills and knowledge, to move various sectors to the highest level.
Mr. Emezue who made it clear that the Governor, who is youth friendly, has designed a lot of programmes for the youths insisted that, no youth in Abia will be discriminated against. Apart from the 4,500 youths involved in the empowerment scheme, the funding of 1,000 youths by ASOPADEC, Mr. Emezue disclosed that more goodies are in the offing for Abia youths. He hinted that the second phase of tricycle distribution by the Youth Foundation billed to commence soon will have youths from Ohafia as beneficiaries.
He assured that the coordinator of Ochendo Youth Foundation Engr. Chinedum Orji will tour the various zones in the state to launch the empowerment scheme.
Mr. Emezue appealed to the youths of the state to remain good ambassadors of the state, as Abia remains the state to be emulated.
