The new Abia Commissioner for Trade and commerce Hon. Mrs Kate Nwosu has vowed to make Ariara Market a world class market.
Hon. Mrs. Nwosu who made this statement known while interacting with journalist in her office, Ministry of Trade and Commerce old secretariat Umuahia, Abia State. The commissioner who stated with heavy hearts that her recent visit to Ariaria market which she meet in a deplorable state was in a bid to fast track the dreams and vision of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu which is to make Abia State the economic hub of South East, Nigeria and the world at large.
The Hon. Commissioner said that she will be working in synergy with other agencies like the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) to be able to make all the environment challenges in Ariara markets a thing of the past. She also said that the government of Abia State is very much ready to expand all the congested areas to be able to house more shops, create an expansion for roads to ease assess in the marketplace, and also departmentalized the market into various sections for easy recognition if been relocated to another site.
The commissioner further noted that the Abia state government has concluded arrangement to bring in equipments to help the Ariaria shoe leather manufacturers to advance in making of Aba made shoes, Aba made military uniforms, Aba made clothes and other useable products in Aba to become of a quality standard and also reminded the trades that the sponsorship of Ariaria leather shoe manufacturers to Turkey by Okezie Victor Chibuikem Ikpeazu, PhD to assist them under study the growing leather industry in that country and when operational the establishment through the newly acquired knowledge of the experts and them as the pilot officers will empower most of the unemployed youths of Abia origin and take them off the street.
The Osisioma Ngwa born Politician who then concluded by urging Abia youths to be educated, ready at all time in preparation for opportunity yet to come and also steer clear from all forms of social vices and get their hands ready to work saying that employment comes in diverse form which could be office employment, business employment or also self-employment.
