The Speaker State House Of Assembly, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has reiterated the readiness of the House to cooperate and render all necessary assistance to the state police command. Sir Oko Chukwu gave the assurance while addressing the new state commissioner of police Usman Tili Abubakar and his top lieutenants who paid him courtesy visit in his office at Assembly complex.
The Speaker recalled the period when violent crime especially kidnapping was at the highest ebb but thanked God that the ugly situation was contained through the efforts of the state Governor, Chief T.A. Orji in collaboration with the Federal Government. Sir Oko Chukwu expressed satisfaction with the antecedent of the new CP. Usman Abubakar and hoped that as a crime booster he will ensure the security of life and property of Abians.
Earlier, the State Commissioner of police Usman Tili Abubakar said the visit was to familiarize himself with the speaker and members whom he described as voice of the people. According to him no commissioner of police can do without the representative of the people and assured that police will ensure that all the laws passed are implemented and solicited the assistance and cooperation of the legislature.
Also speaking, Mr. C.E. Egbuka in charge of the Central Police Station, thanked the speaker for the warm reception accorded them pointing out that the large turn out of the members shows how dear they hold the State Police Command.
