The ministry of Agriculture has flagged off the sale of cassava tubers to Abians. Performing the ceremony at the ministry headquarters umuahia, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Barr (Mrs) Uzoamaka Uche-Ikonne stated that the gesture is part of the 26th Anniversary celebration of the state as well as laudable achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration in the agricultural sector. Mrs Uche-Ikonne, pointed out that the Pro-vitamin A and TME 419 Stems and roots are part of the proceeds from the ministry’s cassava multiplication farm at Omumauzo in Ukwa West LGA, adding that the Pro-Vitamin A cassava roots has rich nutrients. The Permanent Secretary also pointed out that the ministry has earlier in the year distributed the Provitamin A and TME 419 cassava stems to Abia farmers for planting to ensure bumper harvest. She stated that the Pro-VitaminA and TME roots are ready for sale and call on all to visit the ministry headquarters in  Umuahia.
