What a defining and cheering moment it was for the Abia senior citizens who, despite old age restrictions, made their way to Michael Okpara Auditorium yesterday for the World Health Organization Day for the Aged celebration.
An elated Governor’s wife, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu said it has been the desire of the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for a long time, to bring our aged parents together under one roof and in such commemorative jollification atmosphere.
She noted the Governor’s much interest and passion in providing good healthcare services for Abians, especially the elderly, which gave birth to the ongoing free home healthcare for Abia senior citizens…
In addition to the ongoing free home healthcare care for the elderly, she said the Governor has plans to ensure all Community Health Centers across the State will have a free healthcare section for the aged in our communities…
