PROTECT GOVERNMENT PROPERTIES IN YOUR COMMUNITIES – Governor Ikpeazu urge Abians
Serious reconstruction of buildings and fencing will commence at the 67 Infantry Battalion Primary School and Umule Comprehensive Secondary School, Umule in Osisioma Local Government Area of the State.
The State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu announced this at Umule when he was inspecting the schools.
The Governor, described the dilapidated nature of the schools and their environment as unfortunate and reviewed that his administration is intervening in building 350 model public schools, which are in the State.
He said the community did not do well as they failed to protect government property in their domain, adding that they allowed hoodlums to mess up the environment and urged both the community and school teachers to always report such issues to government.
In her speech on behalf of the 67 Infantry Battalion Primary School 1,2,3 and Umule Comprehensive Secondary School, one of the Head Mistresses, Mrs. Rose Nwankpa appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the visit. She said the schools have problems of flooding, dilapidated buildings, lack of seats and teaching materials.
In an interview, an Assistant Head Mistress, Mrs. Rose Ahunaga said “we are favoured that the Governor came” added that they have long awaited the visit. She prayed God to bless the Governor and grant him his heart desires.
The Governor later donated exercise books to the pupils.
