Abia State Governor Chief T.A. Orji has commended President Goodluck Jonathan over the appointment of an indigene of the state Brigadier Gen Thompson Okorie Affia as the Director General of the NYSC.
Speaking through his Adviser on Electronic Media Ugochukwu Emezue, Governor Orji Stated that the recent appointment by the President shows the love he has for the people of the State.
The Governor who cited the Chief of army staff, comptroller General of Nigeria immigration, DIGS Udah and Ivy Okoronkwo as sons and daughters of Abia who are serving the country credibly at the top level, assured the President that the new NYSC, DG will not disappoint him and the country.
The Governor who still pleaded for more appointments for Abians at the federal level pledged his support and that of the people of the state for President Goodluck Jonathan.
Chief T.A. Orji however charged the new NYSC D.G to go the extra mile to ensure that he takes the scheme to an enviable height.
“My advice to the new DG of NYSC is to work hard, make sacrifices and ensure that the scheme is taken to the highest pinnacle of success”
