Abia State Governor Chief T.A. Orji has described the recent flood disaster in Ibadan Oyo State as very unfortunate.
The Governor who spoke through his Adviser on Electronic Media Ugochukwu Emezue stated that he was highly disturbed on the level of destruction experienced in the disaster.
According to him the lives and property lost remained regrettable.
The Governor urged the state Governor, whom he described as his, brother to see this incident as one of those challenges that must be conqured in the course of governance.
Chief Orji commended the Governor for rising up to the occasion in terms of the response exhibited by the state agencies that are saddled with the responsibility of managing natural disasters.
He applauded him on the planned demolition of illeged structures in the state capital, as it will go a long way in sanitizing the city, especially in the area of deflooding Ibadan when it rains.
Meanwhile the Governor has commiserated with Radio Nigeria Ibadan over the death of its staff during the flood .The Governor urged the management and staff to bear the loss with fortitude.
