Special Adviser to the Governor on Electronic Media Ugochukwu Emezue has stated that the Governor of Abia State Chief T.A Orji deserves commendation over the relocation of the school of Humanities and Social Sciences of Abia State University Uturu to its campus in Umuahia, instead of criticisms that are not objective
Mr. Emezue spoke against recent claims by some people that the relocation is politically motivated, since the governor hails from Umuahia.
According to Emezue, the founding fathers of Abia State University albinitio laid the foundation of that institution on the platform of the multi campus system, as obtained in other parts of the country.
The multi campus system no doubt was endorsed by the Abia State House Assembly, and has been put into practice over years as the Umuahia campus of ABSU has been operating at Umudike, with the faculty of Agriculture.
With the planned relocation of the school of Humanities and Social Sciences to that place it will go a long way in reducing the pressure on the facilities at the main campus at Uturu.
The media adviser hinted also that when these faculties take off, the level of infrastructural development at the Umuahia campus will no doubt be the envy of others.
Mr. Emezue urged those politicizing this issue to note that whatever decisions the Governor takes in the course of governing the state it will always be in the interest of Abians.
