Abia State governor Chief T.A. Orji has congratulated muslims on the celebration of the Eid-el-fitr which marks the end of the holy month of ramadam.
Chief Orji who spoke through his adviser on electronic media Ugochukwu Emezue urged them to ensure that peace which is one of the cardinal principles of Islam continue to reflect in all their dealings even after the ramadam period.
According to the governor peace is very essential to the development of any nation as such no effort should be spared to ensure that peace prevails.
Governor Orji enjoined them to remember the less privileged during this period, he also called for their prayers for the good of the country.
“I urged all muslims to pray for the peace of the nation, pray for their leaders that they achieve their goals for the good of the electorate”
The Abia state helmsman assured the muslim community in the state of their safety before during and after the celebration.
The governor however used the opportunity to caution the citizens to be security conscious, even as all security agencies in the state are on red alert to maintain law and order.
