The inclusion of President Goodluck Jonathan in the list of 100 most
influential persons in the world by TIME magazine has been described
as historical and unique.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Ugochukwu Emezue, Governor
Theodore Orji said that this singular honour is not just for Mr.
President alone but to Nigerians and the black race. According to the
Governor, the recognition has confirmed the confidence the world has
in Jonathan’s ability to transform Nigeria. Chief Orji hinted that
this development will no doubt spur the President to go the extra mile
in ensuring that this country becomes the envy of the world.
Speaking further Chief Orji stated that this honour which is coming
few days after Okonjo Iweala’s failure to clinch the World Bank top
position which he attributed to international politics has proved that
Nigerians have great potentials that will stun the world soon.
The Governor while congratulating the President on this rare honour,
urged him to keep his eyes on the ball so as to take the nation to
unimaginable heights of progress in various sectors. He told Mr.
President not to be distracted . As he puts it “Mr. President is a man
of destiny and God has a hand in the affairs of this nation as such
he should march on till our collective aspiration as a nation becomes
a reality”
