My prayers and thoughts are with the victims and families of those affected by the unfortunate incident caused by a collapsed building at Agbama Housing Estate, Umuahia. I sympathize with the families of those occupants that died in the collapsed building and I pray for the quick recovery of the survivors.
Let me use this opportunity to thank all those who had assisted in the rescue effort, the Medics, Security men and women, Construction Companies, Agbama residents and other brave Abians. All your efforts to safeguard lives are well appreciated.
However, the cause of the unfortunate collapse is currently being investigated to forestall future occurrence. We will investigate the case and we will take measures against those involved as poor safety standards by house owners and developers will not be tolerated in Abia State.
