The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Chief (Mrs) Mercy Odochi Orji has advised young couples against allowing third party interfere in their marriage life, stating that they should be independent and settle their misunderstanding among themselves.
Chief Mrs. Orji gave the advise at the reception to mark the dedication of her grandchild, little Viola Obinna Araraume at Holy Trinity Catholic church, Maitama, Abuja.
The first Lady thanked God for the gift of the child and prayed God to protect the baby and the parents and to give them the grace to bring up the child in love and Christian virtues.
Preaching a sermon at the dedication service, the officiating minister, Rev, father Simon Augustine Tizle said that love was the ingredient that garnishes happy marriage and true Christian life and advised the couple, Mr. Obinna and Nneoma Araraume to make love their watch word by loving their neighbours as themselves.
He charged the family to bring up the little viola in love and fear of God so that she would be an asset to the home and humanity and not a liability.
The Rev. called on the Christendom to pray for peace and love of the nation, so that the present mayhem in the country would cease.
Lending his voice, the President of Catholic Bishops conference of Nigeria, Very Rev. Ralph Madu highlighted the importance of the sacrament of marriage and praised God for giving the Araraumes a child soon after their marriage recently.
Also reacting to the occasion, the senator representing Abia State central constituency, chief (Mrs.) Nkechi Nwaogu advised the couple to be independent and avoid interference from outside, while the chairman of Ohafia L.G.A, Chief (Barr.) Nnenna Onwuka Obewu and the Accountant general of Abia State, Sir Gabriel Onyendilefu advised the parents to train the child in the fear of the Lord and thanked God for blessing the family with a child expressing that the Almighty lord would provide them with sources to bring her up to the glory of mankind.
The ceremony attracted who is in Abia State, political juggernauts, friends and associates of the Orji’s and Araraumes top among them were Chief (Mrs.) Nene Ananaba, wife of the deputy Governor, Chief Acho Nwakanma, the former deputy governor and his wife, senators’ Emma Nwaka, the State chairman of the PDP, Ike Nwachukwu, Nkechi Nwaogu, Ifeanyi Araraume, Chief Tony Ukasanya and Mazi Mao Ohuabunwa.
Other personalities were, Chief Chukwu Wachukwu, chief Uche Akwukwaegbu (BAWAS) Chief Sam Ogbonna, Prince Christopher Enweremadu, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, Hon. Udo Oko-Chukwu, speaker of Abia House of Assembly and Justice Mary Odili including a bevy of Ochendo women group from Abia State.
The highlight of the ceremony was the administering of the holy communion to Catholic faithful and high profile reception at both the homes of the Araraumes at Maitama Abuja and at the Abia Government lodge at Asokoro, Abuja where the Ochendo women entertained guests with traditional dances.
