Also today at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, the Office of the wife of the Governor and Office of the Special adviser to the governor on Teenage matters organised activities to mark the 2018 International Day Of The #GIRLCHILD.
The theme was : EMPOWERING GIRLS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER CONFLICT.
The wife of The Abia State Governor, the wife of the deputy governor, the wife of the deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, the commissioners for special duties and many important dignitaries graced the event which featured displays by the girl child and motivational/advisory speeches from eminent personalities.
The governor’s wife is very passionate about empowering the teenagers especially the girl child for great exploits. It could be recalled that just last week there was a similar effort in that direction where a youth mentorship program was held at the Vicar Hope Foundation Youth center Umuahia with resource persons drawn from across several professions.
