Muslims across the country have been urged to use the occasion of the
Idel Malud to pray for peace and stability in the country.
Governor of Abia State Chief T. A Orji in a goodwill message to mark
the event, stated that peace is one of the major ingredients that
sustains development and democracy in any society.

According to Chief Orji who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary Ugochukwu Emezue,
efforts must be made by all Nigerians irrespective of religious
leanings to maintain peace at all cost in their areas. The Governor
once again hinted that life is sacred, cautioning those involved in
killing fellow citizens to desist from such acts which remain a threat
to the corporate existence of the Nigeria.

The Governor, while soliciting the support of the muslim community in
the state assured them of their security at all times.
