Relocation of the Umuahia Main Market to Ubani is irrevocable…Gov T.A. Orji

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji has declared that the relocation of the Umuahia main market to Ubani Ibeku is irrevocable.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ugochukwu Emezue, the Governor also hinted that the timber market relocation to its new site is a task that will be accomplished soon.

Chief Theodore Orji who is unequivocally committed to the development of the State Mr. Emezue said, is desirous to see these markets within the city centre move to their permanent sites.
According to the Chief Press Secretary, when these markets are relocated, the spaces left will be used for projects that will impact on the lives of the citizens positively.
Apart from adding to the aesthetic values, the relocation of these markets will enhance the free flow of traffic within the capital, Umuahia.
Mr. Emezue who gave December, this year as the tentative month for the completion of the new Ubani and Timber markets urged traders to support Governor Orjis’ efforts in giving them a conducive environment for their commercial activities.
On the relocation of the Mechanic Village, Mr. Emezue, said that the State Governor is impressed with this development, as Umuahia the State capital has continued to wear a new look.
The Governor’s spokesman appealed to mechanics who are yet to move to their new location to do so, as he insists, that government is not going back on its resolve to clean up Umuahia, which is fast turning to the cleanest capital in Nigeria.
