Government has vowed to empower youths effectively

The Abia State Commissioner for  Information and Strategy, Chief Don Ubani has reiterated the state government’s commitment to effective empowerment of her youths in order to assure a holistic development of the state. Chief Ubani stated this in a release he issued in Umuahia in d course of his review of the on-going agitation against removal of subsidy on fuel by the Organized Labour and Civil Society Organizations in the country. Chief Ubani who asserted that genuine and effective leadership is an inevitable after-math of the level of vision and altruism of the leader, made it clear that Abia state government, as currently headed by Chief T A Orji, had, out of vision of likely economic fall outs of the economic crisis that recently engulfed some parts of Europe, notably Greece and Italy, packaged development envelopes for unemployed Abia youths in order to protect them against any unforeseen global economic uncertainty. Chief Ubani stated that the youth empowerment programme being sponsored by the state government through Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ASOPADEC) , which has thousands of Abia youths in her monthly pay-roll, is a clear manifestation of government’s deliberate policy to give her youths an assuring sense of belonging. The Information commissioner also stated that the state government has perfected an effective policy arrangement that will soon have another 4550 youths of the state for a monthly financial empowerment. Chief Ubani made it clear that these uncommon acts of generosity are made possible only because the  T. A Orji administration believes in palliatives that could effectively address the economic difficulties of her indigenes. Chief Ubani, however, admonished Abia youths to take maximum advantage of these rare opportunities to build a strong and sustainable foundation for their future.
