Abia state Governor Chief T. A. Orji has urged Northern leaders
especially the Governors not to relent in their efforts to secure life
and property in that region.
The Governor, who spoke against the background of the rising wave of
bombing which had led to loss of innocent citizens, maintained that
his northern colleagues under the aegis of Governors’ forum have shown
sincerity in tackling this ugly trend which seems to be portraying the
nation in bad light.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Ugochukwu Emezue, Governor
Orji affirmed that Northern leaders, especially the Governors have the
capacity to restore normalcy in that region. He advised them not to be
discouraged over this menace which he stated will definitely be
consigned to the history one day. Chief Orji maintained that the
northern leaders need the support of all Nigerians in their desire to
put an end to this hydra headed monster. The Abia state helmsman,
urged them to disregard any comment from either people in or outside
the government, to portray them as being nonchalant to this burning
issue. He also used the opportunity to task the Police High Command to
go the extra mile to curtail this emerging but dangerous trend. “The
police should not give up, there is light at the end of the tunnel”.
