Abia State Governor Chief T. A. Orji says he has received with sadness
the passing away of Chief Mathew Mbu with shock and disbelief. Chief
Orji in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Ugochukwu Emezue,
declared that the exit of the First Republic Minister has created a
big vacuum in the country’s political firmament.
Going down memory lane, Chief Orji said that Nigerians will not forget
the role Late Mbu played in projecting the image of the country as the
Minister of Foreign Affairs. Governor Orji argued that the death of
the Elder Statesman marks the end of an era. For the Abia State
helmsman, Late Mbu lived a fulfilled life and he prayed God to grant
him eternal rest; “on behalf of myself and the people of Abia State, I
console the family of Mbu urging them to take heart as they grief over
the death of this courageous ambassador of all times”
