EASTER: LET'S CELEBRATE A NEW LIFE, IKPEAZU URGES CHRISTIANS.

EASTER: As people all over the World and all Nations join Christians to celebrate Easter which marks the death and resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has extended his good wishes to all Abians both at home and in Diaspora and wished them a happy and peaceful Easter celebration.
The Governor said this year’s Easter should mark the revival of a new life in our journey as individuals, state and country.
He called on Nigerians to tune into the spiritual significance of Easter to readjust their lives in a way that will promote unity, love, a stronger kindred tie and community spirit, emphasizing that we are all united by our common humanity.
He noted that as the resurrection of Jesus Christ brought hope and salvation to mankind, Christians and followers of other religion must dedicate the season to give hope and encouragement to the weak, the vulnerable and the handicapped and preach for a world devoid of wars, extremism, ethnic cleansing and arm-struggle, stressing that terrorists and their sponsors should lay down their arms and stop the bloodletting in the land.
The Governor also urged Christians to fashion their lives according to the precepts of Jesus Christ who epitomized forgiveness, unity and love, emphasizing that they must live exemplary lives and conduct themselves as the light of the world as Christ is the hope of salvation.
Ikpeazu further appealed to all Nigerians of every faith and religion to bury old divisive practices and take up a new life of transparency and patriotism which will lead to the progress of the country.
He urged both leaders and countrymen to remain steadfast in the face of daunting challenges and economic downturn, stressing that the burden of the country would better be addressed and overcome by a collective spirit of unity and common purpose.
The Governor also used the occasion to thank Abians for their support and cooperation to his government, noting that the achievements he has recorded so far could not have been possible without their solidarity.
The Governor also prayed for the peace of the land and the peace of Jerusalem.
