ABIA STATE TO ENSURE REGISTRATION OF ALL CHILD BIRTH IN THE HOSPITALS AND MATERNITIES.

The Deputy speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Information, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere has said the House within the past one month passed three resolutions and confirmed the appointment of 19 Commissioner – nominees, ASUBEB and Civil Service Board members.
Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere who made this known during the monthly press briefing of the House also said the House considered two bills, the Sports Endowment Fund Bill and Synergy and Advertisement Bill.
According to him the resolution passed by the House include mandating the Hospitals and Maternities to ensure that every life birth is registered in the State, invitation of the Commissioner representing Abia State in the NDDC to appear before the House to explain the activities of the commission in the state and directing the relevant ministry to clean up the Abia tower of peace and its environs.
Rt. Hon Asiforo Okere stated that 24 Commissioner-nominees were screened and the appointments of 19 were confirmed while the House was still considering the appointment of the four commissioner nominees while one commissioner  nominee was rejected by the House.
He disclosed that the appointment of  Hally Onuoha  as the chairman of  Abia State Civil Service Commission and the other members of the commission were confirmed and the appointments of members of the ASUBEB board were also confirmed.
The Deputy speaker revealed that the request of the Governor of the State, Chief  T. A, Orji for the appointment of  25 Special Advisers and later 10 additional Advisers were all granted to him by the House.
