Abia speaker charges Nigerians to ensure legacies of patriots are achieved.

The speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, RT. Hon .Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has charged Nigerians to ensure that the legacies of patriots are achieved to foster national peace and development.
Speaking during the memorial service in honor of General Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi Ironsi at St. Theresa’s catholic parish, Umuahia, RT. Hon Oko Chukwu stated that General Aguiyi Ironsi, the first military head of state in Nigeria, paid the supreme price to ensure the continous oneness of Nigeria, stressing that unity is the only genuine panacea for national growth and development.
Earlier during his sermon, Rev. Fr. John Obia charged christians to continuously re-enact Christ-like attributes which are built on love and sacrifice towards all mankind to foster the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, adding that anarchy and discord must not be tolerated among Christians, praying for peace and continuous unity of Nigeria.
The Head of Service, Bar. G.C.Adiele, Thomas  Aguiyi Ironsi and Sir Bob Ogbuagu among other notable personalities honored the memorial service.
In a similar development, the Speaker, has also called for more diligence and concerted effort for repositioning and service delivery to foster development.
Unveiling the structural organigram donated by the Servicom Unit of the Abia State House of Assembly, RT. Hon Ude Oko Chukwu further called for respect for organizational hierarchy and congratulated the deputy leader, Hon. P.C Onyegbu, Deputy Whip, Hon.Humphery Azubuike and member representing Ukwa West state constituency, Hon. Tony Mezie Nwaubani on their merit awards for servicom, urging them not to rest on their oars till societal development is achieved.
The Deputy Speaker, RT. Hon.Allwell Asiforo Okere, the clerk/permanent secretary of the Abia State House of Assembly, and other honorable members were present during the unveiling ceremony.
