Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has taken his urban renewal programme in Aba to his maternal home in Umuafo area of Aba.
Stores and gate to the entrance of his uncle’s compound, Chief Godwin Alozie along Ururuka Road have been demolished.
Also, the fence of Chief Fred Chigbu, younger brother to Deacon Betsy Ikpeazu (nee Chigbu) Gov Ikpeazu’s mother has also been marked for demolition.
This is an indication that houses, stores or fence built without approval will be demolished.
In the same vain, Hon. Mandela Obasi, member representing Ohafia North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, didn’t wait for the government to pull down the fence of his hotel, Evergreen Hotel, on Umuola Street in Ogbohill area of Aba, as he pulled the fence down himself.
