The Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu has commissioned five modern bungalows built for indigent families at Umuahia South and Obingwa Local Government Areas.
Speaking while handing over the keys of the buildings commissioned to the beneficiaries, Mrs Ikpeazu said that she built the houses in fulfillment of her covenant with God to touch lives positively while in office.
She stressed on the fact that the present administration is public oriented with its foundation on God and declared that the project will go round the 17 local government areas as planned by Executive Governor.
The first lady used the opportunity to call on public spirited individuals and those in positions of authority to use their wealth and positively touch lives because government cannot do it all.
The beneficiaries include Mr and Mrs Gabriel Iroeziemuo from Amaibo in Umuahia South LGA, Mr and Mrs Nwosu Nwachukwu, from Mgboko Obaete, Mrs Mercy Dike, from Umuakata Awom and Mrs Nnenna Chikezie from Umuobiakwa, all in Obingwa local government area.
In their speeches the Umuahia South local government Chairman, Prince Obioma Ogbulafor and Obingwa council Chairman, Mr Hanson Amaechi, thanked the wife of the Governor for her selfless services to humanity and expressed the confidence that the PDP government of the state will provide more dividends of democracy for Abians.
